ROBERTA ROBISON ALLEN SCHOLARSHIP

Roberta was a graduate from Lamont High School where she was involved in multiple student led functions.  She continued her education at Northern Oklahoma College.  Education for her and her husband, Earl, was an integral part of their lives; not only supporting but making it a career. Later in her retired life she was a Boehme Hall parent with her husband Earl, being a parent to multiple students.

The scholarship was created for a graduating Deer Creek – Lamont Senior with preference to those applicants who will be attending Northern Oklahoma College, enrolling with a major in education.  Recipients will be selected by a family committee with recommendations from the DCLA Counselor and Principal.  The scholarship consists of $250 each semester for the first two semesters of paid enrollment.

Criteria for eligibility:

Ø  Must be accepted and enrolled at a college/tech – preference given to Northern Oklahoma College.

Ø  Preference to prospective Education majors

Ø  Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Ø  Must demonstrate financial need.

Ø  Scholarship is renewable for a second semester if student shows proof of enrollment with paid receipt and maintain at least a 2.5 GPA as a full-time student for the first semester.

Ø  Once selected, we hope that the scholarship recipient will write to the Allen Family at the end of each semester to let them know how he/she is doing academically.

Ø  Participated in extracurricular activities.  Examples: football, basketball, track, chorus, debate team,  ETC….

It is important for the recipient to understand that this scholarship is awarded on a semester by semester basis and the second semester is contingent upon a 2.5 GPA or higher with full-time status.
